Good article.

I think the waiting can be translated into FEAR, lack of purpose, and clarity.

Waiting is s-o-o-o-o SAFE and easy. It is also boring and unfulfilling.

I procrastinate by constant learning; taking just ONE more class, one more webinar, one more book…
then I’ll be ready, then I’ll be good enough. When I think about the 12 disciples…none of them were Harvard grads or even seminary students for that matter. As a matter of fact, they didn’t even do an alter call. Christ just said, “follow me”. Remember our Father’s words, “good and FAITHFUL servant”. Obedience is the key,not perfection. I am a work in progress..that’s for sure.

Hi! Terry and brothers, Sorry I came late but couldn´t before.Anyway this is an interesting suject.For me at the begining of my walk with the Lord was like that.I was just waiting and doing nothing till something started hitting in my understanding that if I wanted to achieve something I was the first to make the move and then God will be there to help and guide.And I can tell you that it´s been like that but you know all is a matter of learning. If anybody here have something in mind pray and go for it and remember that the Lord confirms the word of his servants. Blessings to all!

I think it takes a lot of faith in God to get going on the desires He put in our heart. It's a lot easier to do nothing and say we wait on Him. It appears like a spiritual thing to do while in fact it's the exact opposite. We let our fear freeze us in our tracks instead of actually trusting God and go forward. Thanks Terry for the encouragement to live by faith! PS-Scott, I think you meant Joseph instead of David... but David would be a great example also.

Terry, I totally agree we need to do the legwork and let God do the rest. But, if we don't do the legwork God's not going to just do it for us. I can't just sit here and wait for God to write my ebook or build my website. What I have to do is do the best I can today...If I just put forth the legwork and get it done, God will determine the outcome according to His will for me. It has a lot to do with Faith, but faith with action. I love how David served God. He didn't just sit in prison and wait for God. He was faithful to God and did what God asked of him. The result for David was becoming Pharoah's second in command, which made him one of the most powerful men in the world at that time. He didn't just wait around for God to come and help him, he praised God and did his best in every situation he was put in. God wants us to do our best in every situation so when it is our time to step up and do His work, we will be ready. Scott

Hi! Thanks so much Terry and Scott for your wonderful advices which I´ll put in my heart.You are both right and I will change and instead of feeling ashame and worthless I will use my pass to help others that they may go in the good way.Our loving God has a wonderful plan for each of us so I will close my ears from the father of lies and just listen to the Lord who love us and see us precious in his eyes. Good to be in this site with all of you brothers as very often we all need encouragement from each other and thanks Terry for the idea of having this place where we can get together..it mean a lot. Orestes, Terry makes an excellent point with Paul. Had he not committed the crimes of persecuting the Cristians he would not have been chosen by God to write so much of the New Testament. It's our stories who make us who we are. I too was imprisoned and God gave me that time as he did you, to come to know Him, His word and His way. I can now help others not to make the same mistakes I did. Like Paul, we get to share what we know now and help others as we serve our almighty loving God. scott

@Orestes - He who is forgiven much, loveth much. As you said, you're a new creation. That was the old man that did those things, and you've changed. Paul the apostle did more than any of us for God, and he was killing Christians before he was saved! You can't allow that past to hold your future hostage. Your story can help save others from going the same direction you did.
